When people think of California in the spring, they think of sunny beaches and sandy surfers, but this is not always the case. Every year like clockwork the skys of Los Angeles become hazy, super hazy. At first I just thought it was a one-off thing, like a heavy for rolling in off of the water. But the fog comes every year at the same time. In fact, it is so predictable it is referred to as June Gloom. The fog, or marine layer as it is called (some wierd combination of fog ans smog) rolls in off of the water in the morning but doesn't roll out until late afternoon if we are lucky. It is so bad some mornings that we can't even see the buildings that are across the street from our apartment. We were driving into work one morning and the entire Vincent Thomas Bridge (which is painted a bright green) was totally engulfed in the fog. We may note really have seasons, but we do have June Gloom.
