Notre Dame

Notre Dame is an amazing place. It's situated on an island in the middle of the Sine, the river that runs through Paris. The most spectacular part of the building was the amount of detail that was achieved so long ago. Small details surround you everywhere. The thing that makes this even more special is the fact that all of these details were carved out of stone by hand. The columns and the vaults were truly spectacular, and were not made on a computer. It makes me realize that some of the most impressive buildings and spaces were made without the aid of computers and that makes me have faith in the creative abilities when the hand and the heart work as one.
